This is a project I did for my degree in 2007. We designed and made a costume for an Opera called 'The Rakes Progress', set in the 18th Century. The design I made was for a character called Anne Trulove, who ends up in a mental asylum. This is the costume she would wear in the asylum. I wanted the costume to be layered and very broken down.
